Rob Breton first discovered photography in 1987, when he opened a one-hour photo lab with
his dad, Bob (who also is an excellent photographer in his own right). They expanded the one-
hour photo to include a small portrait studio, taking family portraits. Although they left the retail
business, Rob continued to take photos of EVERYTHING, including some album jacket photos
and publicity shots for local musicians. He also did a fair amount of live action music and
sports photography. But it was his wife, Holly, that influenced him to take a photo journalistic
approach to his photos.
Holly has a keen eye for recognizing a moment worth recording for posterity. She began by
pointing it out to Rob so that he would photograph it, but eventually took the initiative to
experiment and capture the moment herself. She is an expert at scrapbooking, and as such
has taken her creativity in that arena and applied it to virtual scrapbooks with her photography.
She never runs out of new ideas, and that serves her well in her profession--whether it's a
wedding, portrait, or a candid moment at an event, she has an idea that usually translates into
a winning photograph! |
